How it works

What this is

A record of what people have found about projects on Flare. Once something is recorded here, it stays. Nobody can take it down, not us, not the project, not the person who wrote it. A mistake is fixed by adding a correction under it, never by erasing.

What a finding is

One person saying: here is what I found, here is what it could mean for you, and here is how you can check it yourself. The checks are real. When you open a finding, the page runs them again and tells you whether they still match today.

How a public post becomes a record

A researcher tags the Reef account on their own post, or replies under their own post with the tag. The bot confirms the tagger wrote the post, confirms a receipt per the lens's rule, resolves the subject, checks the handle, and records the post verbatim with the proof.

Your own update

Only the original author can update their record, and they never need the project or us to do anything. The same with the word resolved records the update with status resolved. The word is the author's own command, copied, never inferred from the text.

Also reported

A new record whose receipts overlap an earlier open finding on the same subject is recorded as a finding that points to the earlier finding. The reader sees one card with every record linked and every researcher credited; the project page counts one finding.

Who records

People who sign up with the X account they post from. We know who they are, and you see their name on everything they record. If someone records nonsense, we stop them recording more. What they already recorded stays, as proof of what they said.

What the project can do

Answer. When something is recorded about a project, a post on X tags the project's account with the link, and anyone can send it to them from the page. The project answers by replying from the X account on its own website; it types its answer and hits reply, and the Reef records it. We never ask a project to connect a wallet. The contracts we check are theirs, and we keep our hands off them. Its answer shows right under the finding. A project never gets to remove a finding, and nobody gets to remove its answer.

The report card

For every project the Reef reads three things straight from the chain: who can change the rules, how long before a change lands, and whether they can pause it. It also reads what their website says and tells you if it matches. It checks again every week. The risk word comes from a public rule anyone can read, and it judges the setup, never the people.

What this cannot tell you

Whether a project is honest. Whether the people behind it are who they say. Whether you will make or lose money. It tells you what the chain shows and what people have found, with the proof.
